<p>Attje De Vries De Jong</p><p>Birth: Aug. 6, 1861</p><p>Drachten</p><p>Smallingerland Municipality&lt;/p><p>Friesland, Netherlands</p><p>Death: May 10, 1943</p><p>Orange City</p><p>Sioux County</p><p>Iowa, USA</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Mrs. Thomas De Jong, 81, passed away at her home in Orange City Monday, May 10 at 6 p.m. after an illness of a few weeks. </p><p> </p><p>She was born in the Netherlands on August 6, 1862 and came to America at the age of 19 years with her brother. </p><p> </p><p>In 1883 she married Thomas De Jong. To this union 12children were born of which 10 are living: Ike of Orange City; Gerben of Hull; Jennie Mrs. H. Druyvesteyn of Rock Valley; John of Orange City; Otto of Carnes; Agnes, Mrs. Jellema of Orange City, Edward of Hull; Thomas of Platte, S. D.; Mrs. A. C. Noteboom of Orange City and Sadie, Mrs. J. Reinders of Orange City. </p><p> </p><p>Her husband died 18 years ago and the 2 children died when small. </p><p> </p><p>She leaves 50 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Otto De Vries of Orange City and John De Vries of Rock Valley, also 2 sisters, Mrs. Ben De Jong and Mrs. Bert Van’t Hull of Rock Valley.</p><p> </p>&lt;p>Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the house and 1:30 P.M. in the First Chr. Ref. church of Orange City of which church she has always been a member. Rev. R. Bronkema will be in charge of the services.
