Jan Schrijnewerckers en Sophia Willems verkochten op 2-1-1771 land op de Mortel gelegen. Jan Schrijnewerkers was in 1774 eigenaar van een huis op de Beneden-Boukoul gelegen (smabers-17/47).



In dit gezin de eerste vernoeming van een Nepomuk (kind 6), brugheilige te Swalmen. Vgl. G. Geraedts, 'Het beeld van Johannes Nepomucenus op de Swalmbrug in Swalmen', in Maas- en Swalmdal 5 (1985) blz. 81-85). Volgens dit artikel werd hij o.a. aangeroepen bij watersnood, zodat de oprichting van het beeld mogelijk verband houdt met het hoog water van 1740-'41, dat waarschijnlijk merkbaar was tot aan de brug.

SWALMEN - 'Dit is eenen bryef van een stuyck landt gelegen aen gen Hoorijck ongeveer eenen halven morgen groot van Johannes Schrijnewerckers ende Sofia Wilms den welke in beleeningh heeft Hendericus Raemaeckers voor vier naer volgende jaeren voor twelf paticons en vier schillinghen met jaerlijckx te geven vier schillinghen aen pensioen.'

SWALMEN - Overdracht akkerland.



Ten overstaan van Joannes Bernardus Chanoine, licentiaat in de beide rechten en scholtis van de heerlijkheid Swalmen en Asselt, Cornelis van Keeken en Joannes Mevessen, schepenen aldaar, dragen de echtelieden Jan Schrijnewerckers en Sophia Willems, krachtens volmacht aan toonder, ongeveer 1½ vierdel morgen akkerland op de Mortel gelegen naast de weduwe Hermen Ramaeckers en met de korte zijden grenzend aan Willem Ramaeckers en Joannes Gerardts, voor een bedrag van 14 pattacons over aan Willem Meuter en Henrina Thopoel, ook echtelieden, kosten van overdracht, lijcoop en armengeld ten laste van de aankopers. De medeschepen Thomas Ubbels wordt namens de verkopers onterfd.

Vrijwel zeker trad Ubbels op als gevolmachtigde en niet het echtpaar Schrijnewerckers zelf, doch dit staat er niet.
