Notes about Lippo Claessen Cnoll

Lippe was co-collator and church guardian in Westerwijtwerd.

When the aunt of Ebel (Writzers), Anna Reners, died on February 1, 1646, her "simple" son Claes Cnol was the sole heir, as her husband Lippe (Claessen Cnol) and her son Ebel Cnol, resp. on March 14, 1640 and May 5, 1625 in Westerwijtwerd had already died. Since the inheritance was not small, Ebel and Johan (both of whom, because of their mother, would be co-heirs after Claes Cnol's death) did not let the grass grow, and on March 23, 1646 "uit Broederlijke affection" concluded an agreement that they after Claes Cnol's death, would divide their part half and half. However, they were too optimistic: Claes survived them both, and died at the age of 80, on 20 December 1676 in Westerwijtwerd.
