Johannes Henricus Broese gehuwd op 26-jarige leeftijd op 11-10-1781 te Kampereiland, met zijn achternicht met Derika Dijk, 22 jaar oud, geboren op 11-04-1759 te Kampen, overleden op 13-07-1788 te Kampen op 29-jarige leeftijd, begraven in het familiegraf in de Buitenkerk aldaar, dochter van Dirk Gerrit Dijk en Geertry Peele.
De eerste zoon heeft ook de achternaam van zijn moeder gekregen. Derika was van goede komaf. Haar vader, Dirk Gerrit Dijk, was gefortuneerd en een zoon van Hendrik Jan Dijk en Derika Broese (zie onder Derck, I.3). Dirk Gerrit Dijk was lid van de gezworene te Kampen, later lid van het Comitee van Welzijn aldaar en schout van Ens (Schokland). Derika's moeder was een dochter van Evert Peele en Aaltjen Storms, grootburgers van Kampen.

Johannes Henricus Broese married at the age of 26 on 11-10-1781 in Kampereiland, to his great-niece to Derika Dijk, 22 years old, born on 11-04-1759 in Kampen. Derika died on 13-07-1788 in Kampen on 29 age, buried in the family grave in the Buitenkerk there, daughter of Dirk Gerrit Dijk and Geertry Peele.
Her father, Dirk Gerrit Dijk, was wealthy and a son of Hendrik Jan Dijk and Derika Broese. Dirk Gerrit Dijk was a member of the juror in Kampen, later a member of the Welfare Committee there and sheriff of Ens (Schokland). Derika's mother was a daughter of Evert Peele and Aaltjen Storms, great citizens of Kampen.
