Hij koopt in 1671 een boerderij voor 200 carolusguldens. Het betrof "een geheel woonhuijs, schuijr, backete, erve en vier honderd roe weijland, staande en gelegen aan de Gemenelandsedijck te St. Anthoniepolder. In 1681 kocht hij huijsken en erve, staende en gelegen aan de Gemenelandsedijck voor 40 carolusguldens. In 1683 visiteerden de mannen der Hoge Vierschaar het lijk van een neef van Jacob, die zijn oom wilde bezoeken, maar door het ijs van de Maas gezakt en verdronken was.
