Heeft er in 2003 voor gekozen zelf te bepalen wanneer het genoeg was voor hem. Het leven moest hem kwaliteit geven en geen medische lijdensweg worden. Hij wilde de touwtjes zelf in handen houden.


Hij had zelf een graf gekocht op de oude begraafplaats in Oudenbosch, zodat hij daar zijn laatste rustplaats zou vinden, en in Gewijde grond begraven zou worden. Het gekochte graf was ook nog eens van zijn Opa geweest, dus hij had alles goed geregeld.


Tegelijkertijd had hij de grond (het graf) pal naast hem gekocht voor als zijn vrouw zou te komen overlijden. Hij wilde ZIJN Joke, ook na zijn of haar dood, direct naast hem hebben. Een teken van ware liefde.
