WALTERS— COX
S t James Presbyterian church, Stanley,
was the scene o f the wedding of
Mr Eric Leo Walters and Miss Laura
Cox on Wednesday last, August 13. the
Rev. A. J . McAdam officiating.
The bride looked smart in a navy
frock, the bodice of which was embossed
with tiny sprays of gold leaves. She
wore a black hat, and other accessories
of black, and carried a pretty posy of
pale pink and white stock with maiden
hair fern. Her attendant, Miss Dulcie
Cox, was also attired in navy, with a
mock bolero and floral trimmings and
navy accessories. She carried a posy
similar to that of the bride.
The bridegroom was attended by Mr
Ern Walters as best man.
After th ceremony about thirty
guests adjourned to the home of Mr
and Mrs G. Emmerton to partake of a
delicious breakfast. The chief feature
of the table was a beautifully decorated
wedding cake. The usual toasts
were honored at the instance of Messrs
K. C. Laughton, A. Leale and L. Marshall.
The brid e and groom received many
handsome gifts. They have made their
home at Stanley.

Walters (nee Cox), Laura - In her 95th year. Peacefully passed away at the Smithton District Hospital on February 19, 2016. Loved wife of the late Eric Leo Walters (Smacka). Devoted mother and mother-in-law of Gloria and Fred (dec.) Butler; Eric and Yvonne Walters; Lynette and Peter Johnston; Shirley and Michael Johnston; and Dianne Taylor. Loved nanna of her 13 grandchildren and their partners. Great-grandma of 23 and great-great-grandma of 4. 'Weep not for me but courage take, and love each other for my sake. I accept this life for me has passed, but I've loved you all until the last'.
