Notes about Debra Jean ROSS

NORCROSS

April 1, 1952 - May 6, 2009

Debbie Norcross, our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully on May 6, 2009 after a twelve year battle with breast cancer. She was 57 years young.

Debbie was born April 1, 1952 in Ely, NV to LaRoy (Bud) and Beth Hilton Ross. She attended McGill Grade School and graduated from White Pine High School in 1970. After graduation Debbie moved to Reno where she attended Ponce College of Beauty. She later worked at the Pink Puff Beauty Salon in Reno. In 1974 she returned to Ely where she worked at Myrtle's Beauty Salon for several years before opening up Debbie's Cut-up's.

In 1975, Debbie married Lyle Norcross. She was a loving mother to four children; Cameron, Courtney, Chelsea and Casey. In 1989, she parted ways with her beauty salon to become an active member of the family business.

Debbie was a very devoted sports enthusiast, who attended all of her children's sporting events. She was also a dedicated fan of the Utah Jazz. Her other passions included crocheting and quilting. She was a founding member of the Sagebrush Quilters. Debbie brought color to our lives in so many ways. She will live on through her children and grandchildren, her amazing quilts, handiwork, and in the hearts of those who loved her.

Debbie is survived by her husband, Lyle; children, Cameron (Jennifer), Chelsea, and Casey; grandchildren, Kylie, Jacob, and Madison; her father, Bud Ross; brother, Mel Ross; sisters, Beverly (Keith) Vierling and Brenda (Joe) Zigich and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Courtney; mother, Beth Hilton Ross; brother, James Ross; mother and father-in- law, Geneva and Johnnie Norcross, and sister-in-law, Judy Norcross.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 18, 2009 at the Bristlecone Convention Center in Ely at 11 a.m., with graveside services to follow. A celebration of life will be held immediately after at the Postal Palace. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Debbie's name to: Mom's On The Run P.O. Box 10994 Reno, NV 89510.
