HUDSON-GREEN.
The Methodist Church. North Mot
ton, was the scene of an interesting
military marriage ceremony on Wed
nesday afternoon, when Mr. Leslie
Hudson, of North Motton (late
A.I.F.). was united in marriage to
Miss Caroline Green, adopted daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. A. D. W. Tongs,
North Motton. The lady friends of
the bride and bridegroom were respon
sible for the interior of the church be
ing artistically decorated, evergreen
arches being erected along the aisle of
the church, and white flowers being
displayed in profusion. Long stream
ers of blue and white-the battalion
colors of the bridegroom - were con
spicuously displayed. The ceremony
was performed by the Rev. G. T. Doh
erty. Miss Beryl Waters presided at
the organ, and as the bridal party
entered the church played the hymn,
"The Voice That Breathed O'er
Eden."
The bride, who looked very charm
ing in a gown of rich cream silk, wore
the usual silk veil and wreath of
orange blossom. The bridesmaids
were Misses Vida and Maud Tongs;
Miss Edna Carey being maid of honor.
Mr. Mervyn Smith, an old comrade
in arms, and Mr. M. Allen, were pre
sent as best man and groomsman re
spectively.
At the conclusion of the ceremony,
and as the newly-wedded pair left the
building, Miss Waters played "The
Wedding March." At the door of the
church and on the homeward journey
they were greeted with showers of
confetti and the best wishes of num
bers of friends.
The guests, numbering about 80,
were entertained at the residence of
Cr. and Mrs. Tongs, where a dainty
tea was partaken of.
