BIOGRAPHY
Robert is alleged to have been son of King Henry I's chaplain Jean de Bayeux and grandson of Eudes, bishop of Bayeux. However it is accepted that he is the grandson of Bishop Eudes, but his paternity is uncertain. Robert was recorded on the Pipe Roll of 1129/30, when he was pardoned a murder fine in Hundred, Sussex.
Robert 'may have' married a daughter of William du Hommet who belonged to the earlier family of that name. He is recorded as the father of Richard, the constable, and Philip de Humet.Source 1
