Uit de acta van de Prov. Synode van Overijssel blijkt dat er op zijn
gedrag
nogal wat viel aan te merken: "Bokelmannes, vermaent sijnde, heeft
belooft sich in alles voortaen alsoo te dragen, als een vroom ende
godsalich predi- cant toestaet, in clederen ende andere saeken, afstant
doende van 't gene ymanden met reden soude moogen ergeren". Een jaar
later (1601) is het al- weer mis: "Hij heeft gedoleert over een artikel
van een synode van Steen- wijk" en weer is er sprake van "onstichtelijke
conversatie ende clee- dinghe". Weer later zullen "de kercken van
Deventer en Zwolle bij beurten
Bokelmanni plaetse bedienen".
