    Vanaf 14 februari 1636 t/m 1638 werden er geen diensten gehouden in de kerk van Werkendam: Zie aantekeningen van Ds. Schevenhuisen in doopboek:
    na de doopaantekening van 14 februari 1636:
    "De volgende kinderen sijn gedoopt bij de redoute op sevenhuisen, also men wederom vanwegen de retorsie de kercken ten platten lande niet en mochte gebruiken".
    na de doopaantekening van 13 juni 1638:
    "De wacht te Werckendam van de redoute wechgenomen sijnde, heeft den dienst aldaer eenige weken moeten gestaeckt worde, ende sijn de kinderen gedoopt en aengetekent tot Herdinxveldt".
    januari 1639:
    "Als de retorsie, hebbende haeren aenvanck genomen in februari anno 1636, nu eensdeels was afgedaen en bepaelt binnen de Mijerie van 's Hertogen-Bosch, ophoudende met den lesten December 1638, so is den dienst in de kercke tot Werckendam den 1 Januarij 1639 weederom aangevangen en aldaer gedoopt de naervolgende kinderen"."
