De erven van Sijbe Rinnerts aan wien de plaats gedeeltelijk toebehoort zeggen hem in 1761 de huur op. In 1777 wonen de echtelieden echter nog steeds o/ Westergeest en is Wijbe nog steeds huisman. In 1767 is hij armvoogd in dat dorp.
