Notes about Johann Peter Classen

*Beathe Elisabeth was vanaf 1726 het middelpunt van een proces aangespannen door haar vader Johan Caspar tegen de Lemgoer scherprechter Johann Peter Clauss. Deze had Beata Elisabeth beloofd te zullen trouwen doch helaas, alhoewel hij zelf natuurlijk niets anders wilde, was zijn moeder ertegen zogenaamd omdat de aangeboden bruidschat van 50 Taler te weinig was.
De werkelijke reden was dat Johann Peter Clauss een kind bij Beathe Elisabeth heeft verwekt (vlg Beathes vader) en trouwbeloften heeft gedaan, hoewel Johann Peters moeder het doet voorkomen dat haar zoon door Beathe misleid is aangaande haar zwangerschap zodat het geheel de schuld van Beathe was. Toen het kind in juni 1728 overleed was de zin van het proces ook feitelijk teneinde en Johann Peter trouwde daarna (overhaast) met een ander.
