Op het huwelijkscertificaat wordt hij John Joseph Beach Hunter genoemd, vader John Hunter.
Volgens de overlijdensgegevens is John geboren in Castlemaine. In Castlemaine leefden Samuel Hunter, getrouwd met Jane Baird (geboren 1931 Antrim Noord Ierland), getrouwd in 1846 in Antrim. Zij emigreerden met hun oudste 6 kinderen in 1856 naar Australia en kregen daar nog een serie kinderen, waarvan de laatste (?) halverwege de jaren 60. Misschien in John B een nakomeling uit 1868 of 1867? Of John is de zoon van John Hunter, een van de kinderen van Samuel, geboren in 1853 in county Derry, Ireland). Die was dan dus 15 toen John Beach geboren werd (al is deze John Hunter waarschijnlijk in 1860 al overleden).
Op Ancient faces wordt vermeld, dat een John Hunter getrouwd was met Margaret Okeefe Hunter. Samen hadden zij een zoon John, geboren in 1868 en overleden in 1881 in Castlemaine?? In Victore BDM ook: Ellen Elizabeth geboren 1862 in Keilor, Johanna, geboren 1875 in Castlemaine, en Edward John, geboren 1876 in Castlemaine; allen van John Hunter en Margaret Okeefe. In 1904 overlijdt een Margaret Hunter in Castlemaine, dochter van Michael Okeefe en Bridt Reeve, age 70. Zij trouwen in 1857 (Margaret Okeeffe (2xf) en John Hunter)
John Beach heeft tot zijn 24e in Victoria gewoond, daarna 4 jaar in Perth, kwam voor zijn huwelijk in 1895 naar Adelaide. Daar woonde hij 26 jaar, en ca 1921 verhuisden ze weer terug naar Victoria.
Op het huwelijkscertificaat van (dochter) Eileen met Joseph staat de bride´s father omschreven als John Joseph Beach Hunter. Verder wordt de naam Joseph nergens vermeld.
In https://australiangenealogy.au/records/goldfieldadmissions/view/77172 staat dat in het Mt Alexander Hospital in Castlemaine op 30 juli 1881 John Hunter is opgenomen, leeftijd 12 (geboorte aug 1868 en juli 1869). Bij zijn overlijdensgegevens op 11 mei 1941 is John 73 jaar oud (geboorte tussen mei 1867 en mei 1868). Dat past dus net niet.
