William and Susannah joined a group of Puritans sailing from Plymouth, England on 20 March 1630 on a ship named Mary and John. They landed on 30 May 1630 and were among the founders of Dorchester, Massachusetts.
William moved the family to Windsor, CT in 1637. He is considered one of the founders.
