`Hij trad in bij de Congregatie van de H. H. Harten en legde zijn kloostergeloften af op dinsdag sept 25 1923 in Valkenburg, Limburg, Netherlands alwaar hij priester werd gewijd op zondag jul 29 1928. hij droeg de kloosternaam Leonardus. Hij vertrok als missionaris naar Brazilie in September 1929. en werd leraar aan het Gymnasio Dom Lustosa in Patrocinio, in de staat Minas Gerais. In 1939 kreeghij opdracht in Rio de Janeiro een kerk te bouwen toegewijd aan de H. Margaretha Maria. Hij was hier pastoor tot 1947, waarna 'een nieuw pastoraat hem riep' naar Utinga in de stat Alagoas. In 1952 werd hij overste en rector van het Gymnasium in Patrocinio. Om gezondheidsredenen moest hij deze functies in 1955 neerleggen; hij was nog van 1955 to 1955 pastoor in Utinga. Hij is overleden 'na een voorbeeldig gedragen lijden ' op maandag august 31 1959 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazilie.
