Mede gezien de achternaam van hun (klein) kinderen zijn Jacob en Tjet met enige waarschijnlijkheid kinderen van Jan Pieters Ka(r)st, maar ze vernoemen geen dochter naar Saakje Pyters (zoals hun twee halfbroers (?) Pieter dat wel doen). Gezienhun huwelijksdatum lijken ze ook wat ouder dan Pieter en Pieter. Wellicht stammen zij dus uit een eerder huwelijk van Jan Pieters. Daar zowel Jacob als Tjet een dochter Aukje hebben heette hun moeder misschien zo?
