    In den hevigen storm van den 24 op den 25 October van het verleden jaar trof mij de gevoeligste slag mijns levens, door het verongelukken van mijnen dierbaren Echtgenoot PIETER KRAK , in den ouderdom van 31 jaren , voerende het Galjootscliip de Juffer Clara , van Delfzijl, met zijne Equipage, bestaande in zes manschappen , op Ameland, op zijne reis van Osterrüsoer naar Delfzijl.
    Hij laat mij na met 3 onnoozele Kinderen, waarvan het jongste 36 weken telt, de vruchten van eene 7jarige gelukkige en vergenoegde huwelijks-verbindtenis.
    Ik mis in hem eenen braven Echtgenoot, zijne Kinderen derven een' zorgdragenden Vader, zijne Ouders eenen dierbaren Zoon , zijne 10 Broeders en Zusters eenen waarden Broeder, en allen, die hem kenden, eenen opregten Vriend.
