    In de Finse Zee is drijvende zonder volk gevonden het schip de VROUW TRIJNTJE, kapt. P.G. Karst , van Amsterdam naar Petersburg bestemd; ook had men enige Polemieten (opm: mogelijk verminkt woord) opgevischt, die waarschijnlijk tot de lading van gemeld schip behoord hebben.

    Rotterdam, 5 november. Het schip de VROUW TRIJNTJE, gevoerd geweest door kapt. P.G. Karst, met stukgoederen van Amsterdam naar Petersburg, is, volgens brief van daar van de 21e oktober, zonder volk op de kust van Finland gestrand, doch een klein gedeelte der lading geborgen.

    Aangaande het schip (opm: kof) de VROUW TRIJNTJE, kapt. Pieter Gerrits Karst, van Amsterdam naar Petersburg, wordt van Petersburg op 24 oktober gemeld, dat van de lading enige kisten bloembollen en andere goederen bij Åbo (opm: Turku) waren aangespoeld. Van de equipage was nog niets vernomen, zodat men vermoedde, dat dezelve daarbij omgekomen is.

    De "Vrouw Trijntje" was een kof van 78 ton, bouwjaar 1829, kapt. Pieter Gerrits Karst

    Een bericht in de Leeuwarder Courant 23 januari 1863 vermeldt dat Kapitein Pieter Gerrits Karst in 1858 tussen St. Petersburg en Amsterdam met het schip 'Geertruida Johanna' is vergaan, dit moet wel slaan op Gerrit Pieters Karst (zoon van Pieter Gerrits) - zie aldaar voor de tekst.
