    Amsterdam, 3 januari. Van het Nederlandse schip GEORGE WASHINGTON, kapt. F. Dobbinga, 22 november (1902) van Methil naar Bremen vertrokken, is sedert niets meer vernomen. Men vermoedt, dat het schip in de Noordzee is vergaan en de uit 16 man bestaande equipage is omgekomen. De bemanning bestond uit de volgende Nederlanders: F. Dobbinga, kapitein, R. Jonker, 1e stuurman, C. Koen, 2e stuurman, H. Duif, kok, J. Mulder, zeilmaker, J. Buitenweg, D. de Boer, F. van Dok, T. Visser, matrozen. De overigen waren vreemdelingen.
