These genealogical standards (literally translated from Genealogical Standards & Guidelines) have been established and are recommended by the American National Genealogical Society (NGS). The NGS (not to be confused with the Dutch NGV!) Recommends these standards and guidelines for anyone who wants to improve his / her skills and expertise in genealogy. The NGS is not an accrediting or enforcement agency and does not assess whether these recommendations are complied with in private cases.
In the absence of a set of standards and guidelines from a Dutch genealogical organization, Genealogy Online endorses this recommendation of the NGS standards and guidelines!
