Notes about Alexander Taylor

1. Charlotte Buchan lived with her Aunt Agnes and family until her mother married in 1853. Agnes was married to Alexander Taylor and both worked at the mills in Kinross - Agnes as a wool winder and Alexander as a dyer. They had six children, three older than Charlotte. The eldest, Barbara, followed Charlotte to Australia and also lived in Penshurst. She was a nurse and her husband, Thomas Prior, a blacksmith there. Their children - Edward, Agnes and William were born in Penshurst. 'Aunt Aggie' moved to Footscray later in life.
