    William RAMSAY; he was proclaimed, at West Kilbride, Ayrshire, 6 May 1715, for marriage to Janet ANDERSON, both of the parish; they had issue;

    2. Robert RAMSAY, "procreat betwixt" the above, was "... born 11 April 1716, and bapt. by Mr John ADAM, at West Kilbride, 15 Apr." [Parish register]; he was at Woodside, West Kilbride, 1738; he was in third Part, West Kilbride, 1741; he was married at West Kilbride, by the Rev Mr John ADAM, 22 June 1738, to Jean STEVENSTON; they had issue:
    a. Janet RAMSAY, baptised at West Kilbride, 2 September 1739.
    b. Hugh RAMSAY, born 8 November 1741, and baptised at West Kilbride, 11 November; a twin. See below.
    c. William RAMSAY, born 8 November 1741, and baptised at West Kilbride, 11 November; the other twin.
