The records were released on 5 April 2011 following the end of their 100 year closure period. There were new questions relating to fertility of marriage: on duration of marriage; the number of living children born to each marriage; and the number alive at the time of the census. There were changes to several others: categories for people with disabilities were revised and the introductory section to the third report on the 1911 census refers to the intended use of the terms as: lunatic - in cases where the infirmity had been acquired during life imbecile - in extreme cases where the infirmity had existed from birth or an early age feeble-minded - in milder cases where the infirmity had existed from birth or an early age.

    4. 1921 Scotland Census Scotland People, 1921 RANKIN, NELLIE (Census 434/ 3/ 3) Parish: Kennoway 1921 Census The 1921 census was due to be taken on 24 April; however, due to industrial unrest it was postponed until Sunday 19 June. The population of Scotland in 1921 was 4,882,497. The Census Act 1920 came in to effect before the 1921 census and is still the primary legislation for the delivery of the census in Scotland, England and Wales. The Act dealt with the provision of funds for the census to be undertaken, penalties for those who did not complete it and also allowed for a census to be taken every five years. The 1921 Scottish census records are the enumeration books which contain information transcribed from the household schedules, as with all previous censuses. They are made available as full colour images. The schedules were destroyed after the work on the census was completed. The 1921 England and Wales census records are the original household schedules, completed by the head of the household. The England and Wales census was also delayed until Sunday 19 June. Due to the summer date of the 1921 census, mass displacement of the population occurred as people travelled from their usual residences to holiday destinations across Scotland and the wider UK.

      .. WHO DIED ..
      At Old Street, Kennoway,
Oh the 28th day of May, 1901,

      Aged 7 Years.
      " Sadly Missed."

Short and sudden was her call,
She so dearly loved by all :
But oh ! how sweet the promisie given,
We'll meet again with her in heaven.

No more we'll hear her little voice,
No more we'll see her gentle smile
Nor feel, her loving arms round our neck,
      Our leisure hours to beguile.

      Never shall she be forgotten,
      Never shall her rnemory.fade,
Our fondest love shall ever linger
      Round our little darling's grave,

Yes, we miss thee, oh ! how sadly
      None but loving hearts can tell;
Thou art gone from earth to heaven
Jesus has done all things well,

And a little child shall lead them,
