There are about 10,500 acres in the parish. There is a large stretch of sandy beach much of it is a nature preserve. The parish church was built about 1794 and churchyard is located right off the main road. Newhills:
    DAVID YULE, (David^obertllohnllohn1) the son of DAVID YULE (1-28) and HELEN
    BLACK, was baptized 3 August 1811 Cultercullen, Foveran, Aberdeenshire and died 10 January 1900, (SD
    195 #1) Thistlehill, Foveran, Aberdeenshire. He is buried in the Udny Cemetery, Aberdeenshire.
    He was married 25 December 1835, Foveran, Aberdeenshire to ELIZABETH MASSIE, the daughter of
    JAMES MASSIE and ISOBEL RENNIE. She was baptized 10 June 1815, Foveran and died 18 March 1902,
    (SD 243 #6) at Tarves, Aberdeenshire. She is buried in the Udny Cemetery.
    They are on the 1851 census, (SR 195 ed.2p3); 1861 census, (SR 195 ed. 5 p2); 1871 census, (SR 195 ed5
    p34) and the 1881 census, (SR195 ed.5p2) at Thistlehill Farm, Forveran. David was a farmer of 24-30
    acres. On the l901 census, (SR243 ed.l2p5) Elizabeth is at the Craigdam Croft, Tarves.
