      A COUNTRY DANCE PIONEER
      Miss Burgess,
      The Scottish Country Dance Society has added to its list, of dances one called "Lady Lindsay of Balcarres." which was created by Mr Alexandor Burgess, whose daughter, Miss C. Burgess, lives in Windygates.
      Miss Burgess. who is now nearly an octogenarian. has been a teacher of dancing all her life. and many of the dances which were demonstrated at the recent Scottish Country Dance Conference were frorn
      the collection which came to her
      from her father.
      "Lady Lindsay of Balcarres" was produced bv Mr Burgess in compliment to Lady Lindsay while he was teaching at Balcarres.
      Miss Burgess recalls that it was a difficult dance, but she remembers all the steps.
