    In 1799 kwam zij met attestatie over van de kerk van Leek en kwam toen in Sebaldeburen wonen. Haar naam wordt dan vermeld als Roelijne Santé. Zij was een trotse en resolute vrouw. Toen haar tweede man Nicolaas Westendorp een baan als hoogleraar in Leiden kon krijgen, ging dat niet door. Roelina Santee zou in Leiden, als vrouw van een professor, haar kap met gouden oorijzers (onderdeel van de klederdracht) niet kunnen dragen. Tijdens haar begrafenis in 1847 werd één van de begrafenisgangers geraakt door de losgeraakte klepel van de kerkklok. Dit bleef gelukkig zonder rampzalige gevolgen.
