Zij was een dochter van Having Jelmers Steenhuis en Trijntje Greveling. Having Jannes Steenhuis te Wirdum was dus een neef van haar en zo ook de Siertsema's in Kloosterburen en de Waarden. Lamb. Grevylink te Annerveen was een broer van haar moeder en de vrouw van Hindrik Hulsink was haar nicht.
