    Jan Writsers (Doornbosch), gedoopt te Uithuizen op 27 februari 1774, zoon van Remge Jans en Ebeltje Writsers, en broer van Jan Rengers Doornbosch te Rottum. De moeder was in eerste huwelijk getrouwd geweest met J. C. Doornbosch te Usquert. Jan Writsers, die ongehuwd bleef en op 22 augustus 1832 overleed, was in 1811 v. zetter van de grondbelasting. In 1812 was hij lid van de raad der municipaliteit. Zijn boerderij "Mentekema" aan de Oude Dijk wordt in 1807 gesteld op 135 gras.
