    Elzo Jans komt van Winschoter Zuiderveen en is een zoon van Jan Elzes, landbouwer westwaarts in de Beerta, no. 17, en Fokjen Jans. Elzo overlijdt op 24 november 1808 te Beerta. Hij is landbouwer in de Beerta, no. 10. Elzo trouwt op 14 juni 1782 met Hindertien Rempts. Elzo hertrouwt op 1 juli 1801 in de Beerta (H.V.) met Emke Olferts Koolman. Zij is geboren 1759/1760 als dochter van Olfert Fiepkes, houthandelaar in Midwolda, en Antje Hendriks Koolman. Emke overlijdt op 8 oktober 1832 in de Beerta. Ze is in 1801 weduwe van Luilef Harms.

    Na de dood van Luilf huwt Emke in 1801 met Elzo Jans, Gedoopt volgens de D.T.B. van Winschoten op 20-12-1754 te Winschoten. Ovl. op 24-11-1808 te Beerta. Elzo was een zoon van Jan Elzes en Fockien of Foktje Jans. Volgens de D.T.B. van Beerta gaat Emke op 07-06-1801 te Beerta in ondertrouw met Elzo Jans. Uit haar tweede huwelijk geen kinderen.
