    Sebe Derks Bonthuis, gedoopt te Stedum op 3 maart 1771, zoon van Derk Sebes Bonthuis op Oostbroek onder Lellens en Anna Brontsema, die een zuster was van Jacob Cornelis Brontsema te Lellens. Derk Sebes was een zoon van Sebe Klasen en Magdalena Bonthuis, welke laatste een broer had, Alje Derks, die de vader was van Derk Aljes Bonthuis. Sebe Derks was gehuwd met Everdina Oudeman, nicht van haar naamgenote (weduwe van Roelf Eyes te Zuurdijk en zuster van Gesina Catharina Oudeman, die gehuwd was met Johannes Werumeus Buning te Leermens. Een zuster van S. D. Bonthuis was Freerke, gehuwd met Nicolaas Eikema. Zijn zoon Derk Sebes werd de schoonzoon van K. D. Nanninga te Uithuizen. S. D. Bonthuis overleed op 27 juni 1811, een klein jaar vóór zijn vader. In 1808 was hij zetter van de omslag. Hij woonde op de "Boelsemaheerd" te Lellens.
