Hij trouwt op 9 juni 1617 te Noordbroek (huwelijkscontract) met Sijwer Tonckens, een zuster van Ulffert Tunckens. Sijwer overlijdtna 4 oktober 1632. Sijwer is in 1617 weduwe van Menso Frerix. Abel hertrouwt omstreeks 1635 met Fenne. Zij is dan weduwe van Meerten Ebels. Abel Eggens en Fenne laten op 30 april 1638 een testament opstellen.
