    Jan Schuiringa, loco-burgemeester in Oldehove, gedoopt te Niehove op 17 april 1746, zoon van Jacob Schuiringa en Trijntje Cornelis, gehuwd met Martje Folkers. Hij overleed op 13 oktober 1816. Hij was de schoonvader van P. J. Reitsema, Pieter Jans Meinema en Eye Menses Feringa. Zijn zuster Etje trouwde met Menno Bennema. Zijn zoon Jacob trouwde met een dochter van Rikkert Lucas. Jan Schuiringa was in 1797 voorstander van het nieuwe provinciale reglement. In 1808 was hij zetter van de omslag en lid van het gemeentebestuur van Ezinge. In 1812 was hij raad(slid) der municipaliteit en loco-burgemeester. Zijn boerderij heette "Droesemaheerd".
