Geertruida (Gerrits) ten Cate (kleindochter van Berend (Gerrits) ten Cate en Geertruida Gerrits) huwde op 28-4-1775 met Samuël (Roelofs) Meihuizen, die evenals de familie Boer uit Zwitserland afkomstig was. Een zoon van Abraham (Gerrits) ten Cate, namelijk Steven (Abrahams) ten Cate was bij dit huwelijk als getuige aanwezig.

    Barbara Ulrichs Roth was eerder getrouwd, in december 1718 of januari 1719, met Hindrik Alberts (RAG, Doop-, trouw- en begraafboeken, nr. 400 Ba, Sappemeer). Het was dat echtpaar dat op 24 februari 1723 aan Steven en Berend Gerrits ten Cate, twee broers van Abraham Gerrits, een plaats land met een boerderij daarop aan de Jagerswijk, onder Sappemeer, verkocht (Ten Cate, Genealogie Groningse takken Ten Cate, 233).
