    Hij was koopman te Vreden. Vlucht op beschuldiging van wederdoperij in juli 1612 naar Burg Steinfurt (Westfalen) , burger (1616) en koopman in het "Houcks oder Kalckers hauss" in de Hahnenstrasse naast de Kalkersteg te Burg Steinfurt. Hij wijkt kort na 14 juni 1633 uit naar Deventer en machtigt zijn zoon Mattheus van Calcar voor de schepenen van Deventer op 6 juni 1642 (inzake de erfenis van zijn tante Maria Jacobsdr van Hummel, weduwe van zijn oom Jan van Calcker) , trouwde in Vreden in ca 1605.
