    Symen Jacobs bewoonde vanaf 1693 als meier de boerderij Biwema te Usquert samen met zijn vrouw Louke Thomas. Hij is de stamvader van de bekende doopsgezinde familie De Waard uit Pieterzijl. Deze familie ontleende haar naam aan de polder de Waarden (tussen Grijpskerk en Pieterzijl).

    Omtrent Biwema vermeldt Spanheim:
    1653: Lammert Michels ende Geertruit.
    1669: de soon Ubbe Lammers en Louwke.
    1693: de wed(uwe): Lauke, getr. an Sijmen Jacobs.
    1698: getr. an Trijnje (Drewes).
