    In 1739 woonde er in de stad Groningen een doopsgezinde lakenkoper Gerrit Lammerts Knijpinga, die twee broers had: Boele Lammerts en Joost Lammerts, welke beide (zonder achternaam) in 1756 als huisman (= boer) woonachtig waren in Benedenknijpe, een veenkolonie in de voormalige grietenij Schoterland. Zij waren zonen van Lammert Gerrits en een mij onbekende vrouw.
