1294, he was involved in wars in Gascony, France. He was summoned to Parliament on 6 February 1299, and also made Constable of Rockingham Castle, Rockingham, Market Harborough, Leicestershire, in the same year. from 1300 to 1302 he was involved in wars in Scotland. He continued to be summoned to Parliament until his death.
