Notes about Zalman Shaynkin

Immigrated to the USA, sailing from Hamburg on ship "President Lincoln", arriving in New York on June 26 1914. (that would make him born circa 1889)
Details:
Scheinkin Salman (or Salmen), 25 years old, Pedlar, can read and write, Russian nationality, Hebrew race, last residence: Niezin, Russia, nearest relative in home country: Father: Leizer Scheinkin

His departure from Hamburg was documented. It took place on June 13 1914. The departure record says he is 25 years old, single, from Niezin, occupation Händler. His name written as Zalmen Scheinkin here.

Records were found on Ancestry. They are NOT found on Ellis Island dot org.
I don't know if there is a second page to the ship manifest. Ancestry doesn't show one.

My thinking is that his birth year was 1889 which makes him the oldest brother. He immigrated to the USA 3rd (first his brother Ben in 1911, then his brother Abraham in 1913, then Zalman in 1914)

For future research:

JewishGen has data about S. Shaynkin in Ataroth, Israel. Can find out later what this contains. Found on Ancestry.

Here is a website about Sheinkin families around the world:

It does not have information about "our" Sheinkin family. I posted a message there in 2001 but there was no reply to it.

Zalman Shaynkin
Petition for naturalization in USA.
His name was typed in incorrectly as Zolmar instead of Zalman.
Permanent address: 607 New Jersey Avenue, Brooklyn, New York
Occupation: Tailor
Note that this is the same occupation of his brothers Benjamin
and Abraham which they stated when they immigrated to USA,
so I think all three of them learned it from their father Leiser who was
probably a taylor.
Birth: 12 sept 1892 in Czntyow, Russia
(I think a mistyping of Chernigow)
I immigrated to the USA from Hamburg, Germany on ship
"President Lincoln" on 7 April 1912
and arrived into NY on 17 April 1912.
He submitted his intention to become a US citizen
on 29 Nov 1921 (which means he must have immigrated to Israel
after that).
Not married, no children.
This is signed twice by his hand!
Two witnesses signed: Abraham Mednietsky and Hyman Raskin
The clerk signed it June 16 1924
The question is whether he was naturalized and when he came to Israel.
Note that the dates of immigration given here, we know them to be wrong, he immigrated in 1912 and not 1914. Interesting to find out when he really moved from the USA to Israel...
