Hij trouwt met een certificaat van onvermogen.
Getuigen verklaren dat zijn moeder is overleden in september 1862: er was geen aangifte gedaan en dus geen overlijdensakte.
Het echtpaar krijgt vanaf 1871 kinderen in Sneek en later in Staphorst.
