Jantje kan bij haar huwelijk in 1862 geen geboorte-akte overleggen, omdat er nooit aangifte is gedaan. Getuigen verklaren dat zij een dochter is van Hendrik Ezinga en Jantien Winters en dat zij geboren is begin december, omstreeks St Nicolaas in 1829.
Uit later onderzoek blijkt dat er wel aangifte is gedaan, maar dat zij onder het patroniem van haar vader als Jantien Warner is ingeschreven in het geboorteregister.
