Notes about Taeke Rommerts Ettema

Taeke was boer te Gaast (op de boerderij thans Boerestreek 1) en verhuurde ook land.
Volgens de overlevering reed hij te paard langs enkele huurders en raakte, door mist misleid, te water en verdronk. Trijntje vond 's avonds het natte paard op het erf staan.
De volgende dag om half vier 's morgens werd Taeke dood gevonden te Idsegahuizum. Hij liet z'n vrouw achter met 4 kinderen, waarvan de jongste 1 maand oud!
Z'n broer Meindert zette het bedrijf voort.
