VEEREN (Theodorus Johan Rabo), geb. te Neerbosch 12 September 1786, omgekomen tijdens den tocht naar Rusland November 1812, zoon van Roedolf Hendrik Johan Veeren, luitenant in het Regiment van Brakell 1789-92, vrederechter in het kanton Twello (broeder van Johan F.W. en Hendrik A., die voorgaan), en van Johanna Theodora van Winsheijm. Hij werd 15 Oct. 1804 cadet, 7 Juni 1805 luitenant bij het 3e bataillon infanterie, 19 September 1805 luitenant bij het 2e bataillon, 1 October 1806 luitenant bij het 3e regiment infanterie, 1812 1e luitenant bij de comp. Grenadiers 124e regiment infanterie van linie. Hij nam deel aan de volgende veldtochten: 1805 en 1806 in Oostenrijk, 1806-07 in Noord-Duitschland, 1809 in Zeeland tegen de Engelschen, 1812 tocht naar Rusland. Bij een gevecht bij de Oula op 31 October werd hij gewond en wordt opgegeven als overleden.

Zijn vader teekende aan, dat zijn zoon volgens bekomen inlichtingen niet zwaar gewond was in den linker bovenarm, met een heel detachement geblesseerde militairen terugmarcheerde, en dat deze op den 15. November den nacht doorbrachten in een huis ofschuur gelegen tusschen Kofnerwa en Wilna, toen in dit gebouw een houwitser werd geworpen, en allen verbrandden.
