Heerdt tot Eversberg (Willem Hendrik graaf van), geb. te 's Gravenhage 17 Apr. 1783, overl. te Eversberg te Wierden 25 Aug. 1864, zoon van graaf Timon Cornelis, die voorg., en van diens eerste vrouw Johanna Jacoba Herbertina Mauritia van derDoes.
Als luitenant-kolonel van den staf nam hij deel aan den slag bij Waterloo, was in de onmiddellijke nabijheid van den Prins van Oranje en nam direct, toen de prins werd gekwetst, maatregelen om hem uit het vuur naar een veilige plaats te doen overbrengen. Bij de oprichting van het corps Jagers, 7 Juli 1829, werd hem het commando over het eerste bataillon daarvan, sterk 1128 man opgedragen (het andere stond onder bevel van luitenant-kolonel Everts). Met zijn bataillon jagers nam van Heerdt in debrigade Schuurman deel aan den Tiendaagschen veldtocht en bij de poging tot insluiting van Leuven voerde hij 10 Aug. het bevel over de voorhoede, bestaande uit zijn jagers, versterkt door een peloton lansiers en een sectie rijdende artillerie. Devoorhoede bezette het dorp Beekvoort aan den straatweg naar Leuven, een uur gaans van Diest, waar zij door de Belgen werd aangevallen, doch door het kloek beleid werd de vijand teruggeslagen, waarbij 16 jagers van de voorhoede werden gekwetst.
Hij werd later tot generaal-majoor bevorderd, werd kamerheer i.b.d. en lid der Provinciale staten van Overijsel.
Hij huwde te Voorburg 24 Jan. 1821 Maria Elisa Gevers Leuven (1799-1864), uit welk huwelijk 7 kinderen. Een dochter Louise Elisabeth huwde met Mr. Laurent Jean Nepveu tot Ameide, president der arr.-rechtbank te Groningen; een zoon, Joh. Herbert August Willem, gaat hiervóór.
