Obituary
Dick John, son of Martinus and Johanna Wilhemna VanDeWege, was born in Cedar Grove, Wisconsin, December 13, 1859. He died in Almena, Kansas November 29, 1936, age 76 years, 11 months and 16 days.
The family moved to Lancaster County, Nebraska, in 1867. He grew to manhood there and was married to Emma Savilla Peters, of Princeton, Nebraska. To this union were born nine children, all of whom except Jennie, who died at the age of 14 months, are living.
He, with his family lived in Nebraska until the spring of 1906 when they moved to the farm near Prairie View, Kansas. He was a farmer, then in business for some years and again on the farm until 1932, when he retired and moved to Almena, and lived here until his death.
He is married to Emma Savilla Peter.
They got married on December 11, 1888 at Lancaster, Neb., Verenigde Staten, he was 28 years old.
