Notes about Robert Rivers

"One of the most outstanding Rivers on James Island, he was one of His Majesty's Justices. Later he was a leader of the Revolution and a great friend of Isaac Hayne. He was a member of the House of Commons.

After the great storm of 1752, he built his house in the 'Indian mount' or enclosure on his plantation, Legare Point, later owned by Robert Bee. He was a member of the Vestry of St. John's 1771-1772."
