His son, John, who married Mary Rebecca Moore, d\o Maurice Moore, who had given him land in Old Town Creek in 1727. Member of North Carolina council in 1730's will dated 2 Nov. 1731 lists: children John, Samuel, Mary, (Samuel and Mary get lands up north west branch of Cape Fear River called Ashwood) Wife dead, friend Edward Mosley, brother John Swann, brother Samuel Swann, exec: Edward Moseley, Nathaniel Rice, Roger Moore, Samuel and John Swann, Edward Smith.
