MOUNT CARMEL — Ederie T. Royer, 83, of 432 N. Locust St., died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born on May 22, 1924, in Mount Carmel, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Theresa (Shuda) Gaffney.

She attended Church of Our Lady School, Mount Carmel.

She was married in Mount Carmel on Oct. 3, 1975, to Charles Royer, who survives.

Ederie had worked at the General Cigar Factory and the Lady Jane Dress Factory before retirement.

She was a member of Church of Our Lady, Mount Carmel.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Paul Sr. and Barbara Milo of Catawissa; a daughter, Ann Marie Matthews of Columbia, Md.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Patrick Gaffney of Catawissa, and Frank Gaffney of Mount Carmel; a sister, Mary Mayernick of Ashland, and many nieces and nephews.
