Iam para a missa de páscoa no Estreito/Desterro hoje Florianopolis e a embarcação afundou na travessia atingida por forte vento sul. Foi sepultada na "cova da fábrica" em São José. Últimas palavras ao outros filhos ao deixar sua casa em Sao Pedro de Alcântara: "Não deixem passar nenhum pobre sem dar-lhe comida tanto quanto possivel"
